“The Threat of Tradition”

“The Threat of Tradition” is kind of political theater utilizing a script, radio hacking, cassette tape, and participation, a new performance style developed in Justin Vivian Bond’s “Live Art Installation” course that asks essential questions about America’s Thread of Tradition and asks for help transgressing the American Flag and Pledge of Allegiance. It has been performed 3 times. First at the Prattsville Art center and Residency as part of the group show “Now What, collage works made in a time of unforseen change.” Second at the Fisher Center for the Performing Arts, and then at the Living Gallery in Brooklyn as part of the group show, “Artists respond to the Election.”
